Following the AIP (Auto-Immune Protocol) diet doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the odd snack every now and then. You absolutely can, and despite what you might have heard to the contrary, it isn’t as difficult to find the sort of tasty treats that you’re craving without breaking AIP dietary guidelines and protocol.
That’s why we’ve put together a list of twenty-five in-between meal indulgences that you can savor without regret, and while they might be quite as easy to find as a bag of chips from the supermarket, they’re all delicious and worth putting the effort in to find. Are you ready? Good. It’s snack time…
Coconut Butter
If you want to indulge your sweet tooth and eat a tasty snack that’ll put a mile-wide smile on your face and is one hundred percent organic, you won’t find a better way to do it than with coconut butter
Olives
As long as you avoid pimento, it doesn’t matter which color olives you eat or how they’re packed and presented, but if you can, opt for a jar that’s filled with olives, water, salty, and nothing else.
Protein Bars
As long as they’re Paleo friendly, like Epic’s Beef Apple Jerky bars are, then you can get your protein hit and snack fix at the same time.
Sweet Potato Chips
If you make sure that they’re cooked with coconut oil, like Jackson’s Honest are, then you’re good to go with sweet potato chips.
Cassava Chips
If you’re anything like us and get hit by a craving for potato chips every now and then, a great way to scratch that particular snack itch is with Artisan Tropic’s cassava chips.
Plantain Chips
While we’re on the subject of chips, we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t mention Inka Chips’ paleo-friendly, delicious plantain snack.
Prosciutto
It’s everyone’s favorite paleo-friendly cured ham, and it makes a great snack as long as you don’t go overboard with it!
Kombucha
As long as you keep an eye on sugar content and ingredient list, Kombucha is a great addition to any paleo snack list.

Let’s revisit the prosciutto idea, but this time using any of the hundreds of paleo-friendly recipes on Google, you can transform it into something special and make your own Porkitos.
Left-Overs A-Go-Go
If you make sure you keep what you can’t finish at meal-time in the fridge, you can have the leftovers as a snack.
Vegetable Fun
Any of the vegetables on your diet list can make a great snack, and you spice them up a little with a smear of coconut butter or a light sprinkling of sea salt.

This is so good and it’s one of our go-to favorites. Try it with a little sea salt, you won’t be disappointed!
Pork Rinds
Sssshhh, don’t tell everyone about them, or there’ll be none left for you. As long as the ingredients are safe, they’re a tasty treat at snack time.
Bacon
We couldn’t mention pork rinds without talking about bacon, and as long as the bacon you chow down on is additive-free and you don’t go too nuts with it, bacon can be, and is a tasty snack.
Coconut Flakes
There’s a slew of recipes available on the internet, and it doesn’t matter if you have them plain or if you prefer them toasted, coconut flakes make a great paleo-friendly snack!

Smoked Salmon
If sardines don’t float your paleo boat, you could always opt for a little smoked salmon instead. And boy oh boy, does it hit the spot!
Seaweed Based Snacks
We’re not fans of the weed, but plenty of our friends are, so if you fancy a taste of the sea that doesn’t involve fish, then maybe seaweed is the snack that you’ve been looking for.
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
The tastiest kind of mashed potatoes, a small portion served with some coconut butter makes a great snack.
Fruit
The tried, tested, and true best friend of any paleo diet, what more do we need to say?
